Policies and Procedures: Sample Evaluations

Mullaly Associates has developed and contains to maintain strict polices and procedures regarding any assessment that is performed. These policies and procedures dictate the process from initial consultation to completion including submission of the final written report. Mullaly Associates holds to the rules of privacy, privilege and confidentiality, and the securing of the record.   The highest ethical standards, for professional Psychology and for Forensic Psychology are conscientiously maintained throughout the process of the assessment.  The referral source and/or appointing authority can be assured of an independent professional opinion in every case, free of adverse bias or influence, and subject to close scrutiny for reliability and validity and for supportive evidence for expressed opinions and specific recommendations.

Psychological Evaluation

Dr. Mullaly's psychological evaluations use an in-depth interview technique along with several standardized tests of personality, cognitive ability, and personal background to arrive at an accurate prediction of behavior or potential problems. Psychological Evaluations begin with an authorized referral. Dr. Mullaly works with the referring source to determine the best selection criteria for the specific candidate in question.  Some of the tests that Mullaly Associates administers are shown in the following table.

Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory - 2 (MMPI-2) Commonly used to help identify personal, social, and behavioral problems in psychiatric patients. The test helps provide relevant information to aid in problem identification, diagnosis, and treatment planning for the patient.
Rotter Sentence Completion Test A projective test where you are given a series of incomplete sentences that you are to complete, or finish which can enable the evaluator to make some judgments about your psychological state of mind.
Rorschach Inkblot Test Commonly used to  examine personality characteristics and emotional functioning.
Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale -III (WAIS-III) A common measure of intelligence
Wechsler Memory Scale -III (WMS-III) A common measure of memory.

Confidentiality

Informed consent is always obtained in writing, with competence stipulated.  During the initial interview, candidates are made to understand the bounds of confidentiality for the evaluation results.  They are informed how these findings will be reported.  They are also let known that the ownership of the report generally resides with the appointing authority.   All Mullaly Associates reports adhere to all state and federal rules governing psychological evaluation.  View a sample of Dr. Mullaly's Confidentiality and Informed Consent forms.

Procedure

Dr. Mullaly follows a specific procedure when a candidate is presented to him.

  1. The candidate is seen for three (3) one hour sessions, consisting of interviews and standard psychological testing. 
  2. The Psychological test results are scored and these results are compiled.
  3. A full report includes the pre-employment evaluation process for the candidate.
